POSITION

Full time position for a Baker in Edmonton, Cairns QLD 4869.

SKILLS

You must have at least an AQF Certificate IV (or equivalent) and at least 1 year of relevant work experience. At least three years of relevant experience may substitute the formal qualifications.

RESPONSIBILITES

As the Baker, you will play a crucial role in producing high-quality bread, rolls, pastries, and other baked goods that delight our customers every day. You will be responsible for preparing and mixing ingredients, shaping dough, and baking products to perfection, ensuring consistency in taste and appearance. Your expertise in baking techniques, attention to detail, and commitment to hygiene standards will be essential in maintaining the high-quality reputation of our products. You will also be responsible for maintaining a safe, clean, and efficient work environment by following strict safety and sanitation guidelines.

DUTIES

  • Produce great tasting bread, pastries and sweets fresh every day.
  • Perform tasks such as kneading, maturing, cutting, mixing, moulding and shaping dough and pastry goods to meet product specifications.
  • Prepare a variety of pastry fillings, toppings and icings, with consistency and quality.
  • Decorate, glaze and pipe icing and creams onto backed goods such as cakes and buns.
  • Inspect and ensure the cleanliness of equipment and operation of the workplace prior to baking runs, ensuring adherence to occupational health and safety regulations.
  • Prepare and assess the quality of ingredients ensuring weighing and measurements are accurate.
  • Monitor oven temperatures to determine optimal baking times and appearance of baked goods.
  • Undertake the forming, loading, baking, unloading, de planning and cooling processes for batches of bread, rolls, and pastry products.
  • Operate baking machines, including those used for rolling, moulding and shaping dough and other baked goods.
  • Monitor and maintain inventory levels of ingredients and supplies.
  • Collaborate with other bakers and the production manager to ensure consistent and high quality, standards are achieved each and every bake.
  • Adhere to work, health and safety practices to ensure a safe working environment.

SALARY

$65,000 - $75,000 based on experience.
